ON 46th INTERNATIONAL KOLKATA BOOK FAIR 2023

Cacophony and symphony are merging together to evoke the spirit of our emotions not recollected in tranquillity. Kolkata book fair is one of the magestic fairs in India. It is a religion to us the book lovers, writers and readers as a whole. Kolkata is the cultural capital of India as spoken by many because of the book lovers which has given birth to International Scholars and Nobel Laureates.
The beauty of the city defines its traditions with knowledge loving. The book fair goes on for 15 days in its pomp and grandeur, music and food, little magazines and little or large book stalls. More than 600 book stalls have participated in the fair including the stalls from Spain, Russia, USA, Britain, Italy, France,Japan, Latin America, Bangladesh etc. Book fair is the meeting place of the people coming from the distant places of Bengal nay India. Lots of new books and their publishers have given birth to new writers every year. This year is going to be the most populous after the terrible covid. More than 300 Little magazines have taken part in the book fair adheres the spirit of new experiment in writing. Little magazines are actually the cradle of new literature of a language as literature is like a river flowing through the channel of endless time. Most significant thing is that book fair here in kolkata is one of the social festivals of love, amity and unity. Writers and readers, poets and article writers, novelists and short story writers and overall the readers are in rare and precious bonding in an interactional mood for the two weeks...this is most crucial in all sides. So vivo the book fair and hoping good for the next and next year.
